What are Poopis leaves made of?
Made of virgin kraft paper resistant to moisture and grease.
What is the difference between the brown leaf and the white leaf?
The brown leaf biodegrades faster, in a period of 4 to 6 weeks, the white leaf is more resistant and degrades between 8 and 10 weeks, both in a correct compost process.
How come they are resistant to moisture and grease?
Virgin paper usually has more long fibers and between them there are fewer spaces where moisture and grease are filtered, in addition the paper is covered with a treatment that seals the sheet, this process is known as gluing; the gluing of the Poopis leaves is food grade certified, so you can rest assured that if it reaches the fauna it will not be a risk at all.
Can paper be recycled?
The paper itself can be recycled up to 7 times according to the standard of virgin papers, however once you use the Poopis sheets we suggest you throw it away, or better still, compost.
What material is the headband and stroller made of?
The material is a synthetic polypropylene fiber although we know it as an ecological fabric, that means that you have to use them as much as you can and then when it is useless put it in the containers along with the plastic so that it can be recycled.
Do they work with "watery" waste?
The resistance to moisture and grease have a limit, Poopis leaves have been tested with waste with a pasty consistency and work very well, however we advise you to use more than one leaf, likewise remember that not even 100 leaves contaminate like 1 bag of plastic.
Can I become a distributor of this product?
Yes, please send your proposal including your experience and scope to the email firstname.lastname@example.org
If I have a foundation or organization to help pets or animals in vulnerable situations, can I request a discount to avoid the expenses of our corporate purpose?
Yes, please contact email@example.com remember to have your documents at hand that accredit you as a foundation or non-profit organization.
Can I buy the Poopis leaves and put my logo on it?
No, Poopis is a Mexican company with a registered trademark and a patent process, we take industrial property rights very seriously; However, some of our direct sales points have the need to sell the product in a presentation so that the product can be brought and used immediately and urgently; for example for when you go out for a walk and forgot to load your Poopis sheets, for them there is the option of delivering headbands with their logos accompanying the Poopis logo, but we are the ones who provide those presentations at the request of the client.
Are there returns?
Yes, we are going to ask you to tell us the reason for the return and to verify that the product was used under the circumstances for which it was designed (we can request photos or videos that will undergo analysis), that you verify that the packaging was open or was violated just before you received it, that the paper has not been replaced by another that is not the original, the return of your money will be subject to compliance with these conditions.
What types of plastics are there?
There are regular or degradable plastics, it can be reused as many times as necessary, it can even be reprocessed in an industrial way, however this type of material cannot be re-entered into the ecosystem in a natural way , that is, it must be handled by man or it would take time centuries to degrade (to degrade means to decompose into very small particles, they do not disappear).
These plastics are made with materials that usually degrade at their best from the year of its production, however you can find plastics that do not degrade in less than 10 years. To degrade, mineral salts are used that oxidize the molecular chain of the plastic, that is how they degrade into smaller particles, however, they only become smaller particles that end up being lethal in marine and terrestrial ecosystems. In addition to that the salts used pollutes the soil.
Regularly these materials are made from starches (starch) of some food such as potato, corn, etc. And they are certainly the most ecological alternative among plastics, but their problem is that they use less than 10% of the food to produce the bag, that means that you throw 90% of the food to collect waste from your pet, and in a world with hunger we believe that its use is not very consistent; but suppose there is no famine, the problem now is that the bioplastic begins to decompose from the moment it is in contact with oxygen, so you had better use them quickly or it may degrade when you get to the bottle of garbage, another issue is the price, its manufacture is very expensive to only be used 1 time and the manufacturers will not assume that high cost, the one who pays it is you.
General problem of oxodegradable and bioplastic plastic bags:
Sorting the different plastic bags is almost impossible because you cannot distinguish them easily, so let's imagine that there is a recycling program in your region, but oxodegradable and bioplastic plastics contaminate a mixture of a regular plastic so regular plastics could no longer be recycled ; To make matters worse, your normally used bag should first be separated or cleaned from your pet's waste so as not to contaminate the plastic mixture again.
What is compost?
Compost is a product obtained from different materials of organic origin, which are subjected to a controlled biological oxidation process called composting. It has an earthy appearance and is free of odors and pathogens. It is used as a basic fertilizer and as a partial or total substitute for chemical fertilizers. The term derives from the Latin compositus, which means "to put together".
Compost is used in agriculture and gardening as a soil amendment ( organic fertilizer ), although it is also used in landscaping, erosion control, coatings, and soil reclamation. It was studied by the German chemist Justus von Liebig .
Ingredients of a compost?
It can be dry leaf litter, POOPIS leaves cut into small pieces, the coffee or tea filter (cut into small pieces), small dry branches, and I personally recommend the special POOPIS substrate because it is hydroscopic (absorbs and retains moisture) and will allow you to have a more uniform soil mix.
Nitrogen and humidity:
They are found in the waste of your pet and the organic ones in your kitchen such as: fruit peels, vegetables, legumes, and those foods that are close to decomposition and that you are about to throw away, freshly cut grass, ground coffee, tea etc.
In the composting process, the humidity of the waste will be lost due to heat and evaporation, so it must be replaced.
Tools for your compost?
POOPIS composting bags,
POOPIS special substrate
Gardening gloves (you can also use some employees for cleaning but you are only going to use them for your gardening),
Heavy-duty scissors to cut small pieces of kitchen waste,
How does the compost process work with POOPIS products?
1.- Put the carbon base (POOPIS substrate, litter, small cuttings of POOPIS leaves) in the bottom of the composting bag and make sure that the entire base is covered, then add the organic waste and on top of it another carbon layer. The order of these layers will allow you to have the correct ratio of carbon and nitrogen.
2.- Prevent the contents from caking: Shake the bag a little to mix the ingredients slightly and when the bag reaches half its capacity with your gloves, gently massage the bag (whenever it is dry) or open your bag and with your shovel and gloves and stir the mixture being careful not to pierce the bag.
3.- POOPiScompost biodigester: before adding the biodigester, shake it and then add 10 drops daily at night.
4.- Water: Up to 1 third of the composting bag add half a rate of water twice a week, when the bag is half full add 1 rate twice a week, when you reach ¾ parts of the bag add 1 ½ two times a week and close it do not add more layers of carbon or nitrogen.
5.- Close your bag and sool it as much as you can so that the heat generated in the process, plus the heat caused by the sun, allows your compost to be ready faster.
If you can give POOPIS sheets an extra use, separate them in another already used POOPIS composting bag so you can send it all to paper recycling.
The result of your compost may take between 4 and 12 weeks, the speed will depend on the correct proportion of the ingredients and the maintenance and attention you put to the process.
Before using the soil for your garden, let it mature for at least a few more weeks, pray with it and put water on it every 3rd day. Plant flowers that help bees pollinate.
